Peace Parks Foundation

Peace Parks Foundation facilitates the establishment of transfrontier conservation areas (peace parks) in southern Africa. The non-profit organisation was founded by Dr Nelson Mandela, HRH Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands and Dr Anton Rupert in 1997. Southern Africa’s peace parks today incorporate over half of the declared conservation estate in the region. The foundation's approach combines conservation with socio-economic development, to ensure the long-term preservation of protected areas. Everyday, an average of 55 elephants are killed for their tusks in Africa, highlighting the severe impact of wildlife crime on biodiversity and ecosystem. Peace Parks actively combats poaching and wildlife crime to protect endangered species and promote biodiversity. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to discover how innovations from space technology can contribute to nature conservation. Mandela Talks is an annual event organized by Peace Parks Foundation Sweden to honor the legacy of the co-founder, Dr Nelson Mandela. The event aims to inspire dialogue and action towards a more sustainable future.
