Master Class with Jeff Cowen
A Close-up of an artist's work
Join us for an afternoon with two masters: Artist and current exhibitor Jeff Cowen and portrait photographer Knut Koivisto.
We start with an exclusive guided tour of the Berlin Works exhibition. We will then continue in the newly opened Salon where the two masters will give an intimate talk based on their inspiration sources. This will be followed by a discussion on how or where creativity emerges.
About Jeff Cowen
The artist Jeff Cowen was born and raised in New York City. He has devoted himself to photography since the 1980s, when he was working as a taxi driver while getting a degree at New York University. After living in Paris from 2001 to 2007, Cowen moved his studio and laboratory to Kreuzberg in Berlin, where his unique visual language underwent a period of intense development. The collection of art on view in the Berlin Works exhibition provides a representative survey of his Berlin period, which continued until 2023.
About Knut Koivisto
In 1997 Knut Koivisto opened his first studio, specializing in corporate portraits and stills for major Swedish films and TV. This was the start of the success story and today Knut is one of Sweden's most respected portrait photographers. If you've been to Fotografiska, you cannot have missed his portraits of photographers climbing Fotografiska's Wall of Fame - a permanent and ever-growing exhibition. With his humanitarian view of the world, he looks beyond the title of the subject and straight into the heart, always with the individual in focus. His stripped-down portraits capture reality as it is, without forced poses and fake personalities.
Knut is also one of the X-Photographers - FUJIFILM's 15 ambassador photographers, who have played a central role in the development of FUJIFILM's products.
