Pop-up: Snösätra, In Progress by Mr Bricks
A visual installation of Springbeast 2024 – Welcome to embark the world of Snösätra
In connection to street artist Shepard Fairey's current exhibition Photo Synthesis at Fotografiska we invite you to an immersive experience of Snösätra: Scandinavia’s largest outdoor graffiti exhibition.
Visual artist Mr Bricks has created an 11 minute, 270 degree video installation covering the process of this year's Springbeast festival taking place in the outskirts of Stockholm since ten years.
"I wanted to create a space which integrates the energy of the artist while creating and show the bare scale of the pieces that can make one drift within thoughts and sensations" - Mr Bricks
Also: Join in for a conversation with Mikael Rickman telling telling us about the 10 years of making the biggest street art festival in Scandinavia - the story of Snösätra. The enormous impact on cultural diversity and expansion throughout the years shows an development of the art form where cross-over artists are invited taking an important roll in the contemporary art space.
Warm welcome to this celebration of street art!
About Snösätra*, In Progress By MR BRICKS
A Visual installation filmed during the 2024 Spring Beast Festival at Snösätra focusing on the process of various pieces. Mr Bricks lets the camera roll and creates a 3 dimensional experience through a geometrical layout: “IN PROGRESS” where the spectator gets the feeling of being present watching the artists and the surrounding energy. We can see children testing a spray can for the first time mixed with legendary writers doing complex fills and effects while the walls of the area are created for 3 days. The main concept is to show the process during 3 days, not all artworks are finished nor documented inviting the spectator to go and see the actual walls for themselves.
A loop of 11 min on 3 projections
The music is made by Mr. Bricks and the composer and artist Autonom. Together they go by the name Autobrix. The music and sound are taken from the actual footwork for the installation.
