Douglas McMaster is the founder of the Michelin-starred Silo, the world's first Zero Waste restaurant. Silo is a restaurant without trash cans - a statement that is their guiding principle and has the chefs working backwards to eliminate waste from their food system. They create everything on the menu from ingredients in their whole form, reducing food waste while preserving the quality of the ingredients.

About Douglas McMaster

At the age of 21, he won the BBC award 'Britain's Best Young Chef'. Since then, he has won several awards such as 'Britain's most Innovative Chef' by Young British Foodies, and has also been recognized as one of the young people pioneering the future of gastronomy.
