Hemp & Hope - the "Superfood" of the future

Fotografiska Stockholm and Planethon are collaborating on a new innovation project called "Hemp & Hope" to challenge traditional notions of "superfood" and highlight hemp as a pioneering example of sustainable food production. In November, guests will be able to explore "SUPER" products from the future at Fotografiska, with tests and tastings of hemp food products.

Fotografiska Stockholm, a place for cultural innovation, and Planethon, a transformation agency that helps organizations evolve within the planetary boundaries, are joining forces in an ambitious collaboration to challenge and redefine the contemporary understanding of superfoods. Through the project Hemp & Hope: Rethinking "Superfoods" supported by Vinnova, the Swedish innovation agency, they want to unlock the potential of hemp as a multifunctional crop that promotes self-reliance, resilience & innovation in a future characterized by instability and water scarcity. The project aims to inspire a paradigm shift in the way we perceive and use superfoods, using hemp as a guiding example.

"When I started learning about hemp and its various properties and potential, I fell in love with it. Sweden can become a leader in food system transformation but that will require us to re-think our protein production and consumption. We are so excited to have this opportunity to explore the future of superfoods through the lens of hemp with our partners." - Charlotte Sundåker, VD, Planethon.

Taste the hemp

The highlight of the project will be a dining experience developed by the innovative food and beverage team at the multi-award-winning restaurant at Fotografiska. Guests will be able to explore 'SUPER' products from the future, with tests and tastings of hemp food products. By changing preconceptions about hemp as a legalized drug in many parts of the world, we are offering an experience to taste hemp and explore its capacity as a food product.

We at Fotografiska love circular experiments and it will be incredibly exciting to delve into hemp as a product, a real superfood that is fantastic for both people and the planet. It is also very resilient and can withstand most weather changes, while being extremely useful and nutritious. Now we're going to make a gastronomic experience out of it and see how it's possible to get hemp into food in the best possible way," says Martin Wall, Head Chef and Planet Keeper at Fotografiska Stockholm.

Tastes of the future

We are pleased to welcome Hemisphere Technologies to the project who are not only generously providing hemp seeds, oil, protein powder and other ingredients for Martin and his team at Fotografiska to create tastes of the future but also as collaborating knowledge partners in creation of the future prototypes themselves.

"At Hemisphere, we are excited to provide our high-quality hemp products for this collaboration with Fotografiska Stockholm and Planethon. As experts in processing hemp seeds, we understand the incredible nutritional benefits and sustainability of hemp. This partnership allows us to showcase these qualities as partof a unique gastronomic and future prototyping experience.
