Book Talk: Not A Typical Persian Girl
Join Atoosa Farahmand and Oscar Hagberg for a conversation on their book and exhibition, moderated by Karolina Modig.
Welcome to an in-depth conversation centered on the interdisciplinary book and exhibition Not A Typical Persian Girl. Together with creators Atoosa Farahmand and Oscar Hagberg, we explore women's resistance movements in Iran, from the 1850s to the present day.
About the Book
Not A Typical Persian Girl is a comprehensive 250-page work that weaves together artistic research, archival material, and personal interviews. By tracing feminist movements across three centuries, the book connects historical events with contemporary lived experiences. This second edition is published in both English and Farsi, serving as a platform for voices from women and non-binary individuals within Iran and the diaspora.
