Portrait photography with Knut Koivisto

A two day portrait photography course with one of Sweden's most accomplished portrait photographers, held in Swedish.

A collage of three black-and-white portrait photographs. On the left, a person with long curly hair and large glasses stands against a plain background, wearing a loose dark jacket. In the center, a person in athletic clothes, a hoodie, and sunglasses sits near a chain-link fence, wearing a white cap and resting one arm on the fence. On the right, a person with curly blond hair laughs, wearing a checkered blazer and a shirt with musical note patterns, holding one hand above their eyes as if shielding from bright light.

About Knut Koivisto

Knut Koivisto is one of Sweden’s most acclaimed portrait photographers. With over a decade of experience and hundreds of iconic portraits to his name, his Wall of Fame project has documented some of the world’s most celebrated photographers – including Ellen von Unwerth, Nick Brandt, and Bryan Adams. Knut’s passion for both photography and teaching makes him an inspiring and generous mentor.

About Wall of Fame

Wall of Fame is a permanent and ever-growing exhibition at Fotografiska, created by Knut Koivisto. Since its inception, over 130 photographers have been portrayed – including Anton Corbijn, Sarah Moon, Inez & Vinoodh, Martin Parr, and Jesper Waldersten. Each new portrait adds to a living body of work that captures both the era and the essence of the person behind the camera.

"‘The Wall’ is my greatest work, and I’m proud that it’s already part of photographic history. But every time I photograph a new icon, I ask myself: Who am I to do this? How do I create a portrait that honors them and still fits into the visual universe of the Wall of Fame?"
