Fotografiska Stockholm’s fifteenth year culminating in a group exhibition 15 Fotografiska Years from October 18th. This exhibition offers audience favorites from 15 years of the world’s best photography, from the biggest international names to our Swedish masters. Several will be visiting Fotografiska in person for the exhibition’s premiere weekend to participate in inspiring discussions and unique signings. “This exhibition celebrates the power of photography as the most accessible and influential art form,” says Pauline Benthede, Global Director of Exhibitions and Artistic Director at Fotografiska.

120 audience favorites are coming back

Since its inauguration in 2010, Fotografiska has held 279 exhibitions in the building, and now we are revisiting nearly half of these in one of the largest group exhibitions since the museum’s inception. In 15 Fotografiska Years, which will run from October 18, 2025 to February 8, 2026, 120 audience favorites are returning with iconic works, from such international stars as Andres Serrano, Sally Mann, David LaChapelle, Zanele Muholi, Inez & Vinoodh, Robert Mapplethorpe, Shirin Neshat, Nick Brandt, James Nachtwey, Alison Jackson and Pixy Liao to such Swedish names as Charlotte Gyllenhammar, Lars Tunbjörk, Maria Friberg, Paul Hansen, Lovisa Ringborg, Anders Petersen, Olof Grind and Thomas Wågström. Several of the works in the exhibition are part of Fotografiska’s permanent collection, which currently consists of nearly 400 photographs, sculptures, and video works.

a tribute to photography

“This exhibition celebrates the power of photography as the most accessible and influential art form of our age, through which we mirror ourselves and our surroundings. Few other mediums can both challenge us and promote understanding so effectively. This is an opportunity for fond reunions with many of the photographers and artists that our guests have met over the years, but we will also be meeting the future through four young visual artists in the parallel exhibition Meanwhile. Together, the exhibitions are a tribute to photography as a technique and art form and a unique opportunity to experience outstanding Swedish and international photography,” says Pauline Benthede, Global Director of Exhibitions and Artistic Director at Fotografiska.
