Open Air Mattias A. Klum
Open Air
Ten photos by Mattias A. Klum in a hopeful outdoor exhibition with the aim to offer Stockholmers a little respite and hope for the future.
images from Mattias' extensive portfolio
Mattias A. Klum’s exhibition Our Time on Earth opened at Fotografiska Stockholm on October 16. The open-air exhibition will run until January 3, 2021 and is being produced in collaboration with Clear Channel. The outdoor exhibition includes works from the exhibition at Fotografiska together with images from Mattias’ extensive portfolio, as chosen by the artist himself.
— The outdoor exhibition is based on some of the images on display at Fotografiska together with others specially selected for this occasion only. Consider it a Christmas greeting from us, and from the ecosystems inhabited by the animals seen in these photographs. Nature has the ability to inspire, heal, and astound us. Covid-19 is a consequence of the fact that we haven’t treated nature as we should, and I hope that this exhibition can inspire a little reflection, says Mattias A. Klum.
QUOTES ON THE OPEN AIR EXHIBITION
— Together with Mattias, we’re offering Stockholmers a wonderful visual experience that is open around the clock! Without the worry of crowding, you can move from image to image while listening to Mattias talking about Our Time on Earth in your headphones. This is an opportunity to broaden our perspective and experience culture on the terms of the prevailing circumstances, says Lisa Hydén, Exhibition Manager at Fotografiska Stockholm.
— It feels heartening to once again offer Stockholmers an artistic intermission in public spaces, spaces where we can still move about and meet, at the appropriate social distance of course. The ability to reach out and engage the broad public in outdoor environments is one of the strengths of our platform, and we’re pleased to be able to present Mattias A. Klum’s hand-picked photographs to the residents of Stockholm, says Claes Kugelberg, Chief Commercial Officer, Clear Channel.
